1. How can I obtain an application to Business of Sports School?

Application is made through the NYC Department of Education High School Admission process. If you are a student currently attending 8th grade in an NYC public school, you will receive an application from your middle school counselor before the deadline. 9th grade students interested in applying to 10th grade should request an application from their high school guidance counselors before the deadline.

If you attend a private or parochial school or if you have just moved to NYC, please contact the Office of Student Enrollment at the NYC Department of Education at 718-935-2009.

2. What is the deadline for applications?

The deadline to submit an application to your guidance counselor for September 2025 is December 9, 2024.

3. Can students who live outside of Manhattan apply?

We accept students from all five boroughs, so you do not need to live in a certain borough or district to apply

4. How many applications do you receive?

For the Class of 2028, we received approx. 1,135 applications for 9th grade.

5. What is your criteria for admission?

We are an unscreened school. Places in our class are determined by lottery, without regard to academic record.
