The Business of Sports School (BOSS) is a small public high school designed in partnership with the New York City Department of Education, New Visions for Public Schools, and F∙E∙G∙S Health and Human Services System. BOSS opened on Manhattan’s West Side in September 2009 with 108 ninth-grade students and grew by one grade level each year to a capacity of 432 students.
BOSS's three pillars are based on the three top attributes that employers say that they look for from their applicants.
We share responsibility, resolve conflicts, and are productive in teams.
We convey and defend our analysis, orally, graphically, and in writing.
We solve open-ended, complex problems that have no easy answers.
