New Visions for Public Schools. As with the 98 other New Century High Schools founded by New Visions with support of the Bill & Melinda Gates grant, New Visions’ provides BOSS with leadership and guidance in developing a Career & Technical Education (CTE) small school, that balances rigor, professionalism, and a nurturing environment. BOSS is a member of the New Visions Partnership Support Organization (PSO) and Children’s First Network (CFN), which provide operational support.
F–E–G–S Health and Human Services System. F·E·G·S is a proud co-founder of the Business of Sports School. Established in 1934, F∙E∙G∙S is one of the nation’s largest and most diversified health and human service non-profit organizations, providing services to approximately 100,000 clients annually in the New York City. F∙E∙G∙S’s mission agency-wide is to help each individual achieve greater success, independence and dignity - at work, at school, at home, and in the community. F∙E∙G∙S’s Education and Youth Services Division helps at-risk youth reach their potential. Each year, F∙E∙G∙S provides academic, career, and supportive services to thousands of young people across New York City as they work to graduate from high school, obtain a GED, enter college, prepare for and obtain employment and make a successful transition to productive adulthood. F∙E∙G∙S plays a critical role at BOSS, working to develop and implement programming that supports full student engagement in the BOSS mission and community — including the College & Career Institute and the after-school enrichment program — and providing key social supports and connections for students and their families.
Borough of Manhanttan Community College. BMCC is our CollegeNow partner, so BOSS juniors and seniors may take classes for college credit, both at BMCC and on our campus.
Virtual Enterprises International. BOSS students fulfill the Virtual Enterprise (VE) program sequence, which offers students a full CTE Entrepreneurship curriculum that includes industry certification in Microsoft applications, national and international expositions, in-depth business simulations and competitions, and college-level business classes, culminating in a New York State endorsement in Business and Marketing.
Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE). BOSS students will take Entrepreneurship their junior year. NFTE provides lessons, activities, field trips, guest speakers and competitions associated with the course. NFTE's mission The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship's mission is to provide programs that inspire young people from low-income communities to stay in school, to recognize business opportunities and to plan for successful futures.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City. Ten current 10th graders are part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Workplace Mentoring Program. These students have mentors or bigs from the National Football League (NFL) that they meet with about twice a month.
